Jeff at the Governor General's Installation

I had the great privilege of attending the Installation of Governor General Julie Payette last week. Her inauguration speech was 20 minutes long, she spoke in English, French, and Algonquin, and she most impressively did not use any notes. Julie Payette is an inspiration to the entire nation of Canada.  At one of the many events to celebrate her installation, I had the opportunity to say hello to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (pictured here).

During my time in Ottawa, I also visited the Governor General’s home Rideau Hall. Last time I was there it was as a nominee for the Governor General’s Award for Public Service in Journalism. It was an honour to be back.
